“The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind” – Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
EMERGENCY RELIEF
With a growing need for support and aid in local communities as well as nationally, MASA acknowledges the necessity to provide relief and assistance on an exponential scale to areas that have been afflicted by disaster. Our relief assistance spans from providing essentials to victims of fires to individuals who have been struck by natural disasters.
BURIAL SOCIETY
“For every soul shall taste of death” – Qur’aan 3:158.
MASA provides a comprehensive service at times of grief. From supplying the bereaved family with essentials for the home to assisting in burial preparation, our organisation seeks to create a network of support for the family at the time that they are most vulnerable. Many families are destitute and MASA aims to assist them freely – through the generosity of the communities it serves.
By providing funeral essentials and monetary contributions we are able to foster a true sense of community spirit and our society is united one step at a time.
Our burial task team only consists of volunteers. This team remains on standby 24/7 to come to the aid of the communities that they serve.
All arrangements and operations fall under Saaberie Chishty Burial Society & CIT / FMYO
SOCIAL WELFARE
As a deeply humanitarian aid organisation, we endeavour to optimally allocate resources and amenities. These endeavours include feeding schemes, winter warmth drives and educational upliftment. We challenge our communities to get involved and assist in any slight way that they are able.
The surge of COVID-19 cases has increased the number of people requiring hospitalisation, especially oxygen therapy.
MASA volunteers mobilised into an emergency response mode, innovating and quickly adapted to provide a functional, safe and code-compliant medical facility ,with careful attention to quality and safety, within 5 days.
The MASA Medpark facility started accepting patients from 24th of June 2021 with the first 20 isolation rooms available in Norwood and is equipped to treat patients at “sub-acute” level of care only.
The facility is managed by health care workers — most who are volunteering to help the province battle against COVID-19
